Dina Kenitra FC
Dina Kenitra FC is a futsal club with a clear and healthy vision, aiming to deliver attractive top-level futsal with as many homegrown players and/or people as possible.
History
Foundation and Early Development (2011-2014)
Dina Kenitra Futsal Club was officially founded in 2011 in the city of Kenitra, under the leadership of Driss Talmoust, supported by a close team that contributed to the club’s development, including Aymene Derkaoui, Otman Idel-Aouad, and Mohamed Elhnoud. The club was established with a vision to promote and professionalize futsal in Kenitra, a city with a rich sporting tradition. The name "Dina" was chosen as an homage to the prestigious Russian futsal team, ISK Dina Moscow, symbolizing the ambition to elevate Moroccan futsal onto the international stage.
From its inception, the club was structured with a clear mission: to become a key player in Moroccan futsal by fostering local talent and implementing modern approaches to training and management. Dina Kenitra’s first competitive season began in the Gharb Regional League (Ligue du Gharb) during the 2010-2011 season, with a roster primarily composed of young players from Kenitra, under the leadership of coach Mohammed Bensaid. Despite limited resources, the team quickly distinguished itself with disciplined play and a strong sense of community.
In the 2013-2014 season, just three years after its founding, Dina Kenitra achieved its first major success by winning the Gharb Regional League. This victory earned the club promotion to Morocco’s national second division (D2), marking the beginning of its rise in Moroccan futsal. After a brief period with Adil Touim as head coach, replacing Mohammed Bensaid, Driss Talmoust then took on the role of coach.
National Success and Growth (2014-2020)
Following its promotion to the national second division in 2014, Dina Kenitra Futsal Club continued to build on its early momentum. The 2014-2015 season saw the team claim the D2 championship title, securing their promotion to the Moroccan top-tier futsal league, Futsal D1, for the 2015-2016 season. In their first season in the premier division, Dina Kenitra exceeded expectations by finishing in 5th place, solidifying their reputation as a formidable team in Moroccan futsal. This success was due in part to the emergence of talented players like Otmane Boumezou and Mohamed Nessis, who played a key role in the club's competitiveness during its first few years in the top league.
As the club’s profile grew, so did its ambitions. Dina Kenitra became known for its dedication to developing young, local players and maintaining strong ties to the Kenitra community, led by its president, Moussa Talmoust. This commitment helped build a loyal fan base and reinforced the club’s status as a "people's team" (chaâbi) focused on representing the best of Kenitra on the national stage.
However, the club faced challenges as several key players left, which impacted its performance. Despite these setbacks, Dina Kenitra maintained its commitment to growth and quickly regrouped to prepare for future success. The following seasons were marked by strong performances, but the club narrowly missed out on promotion back to D1 in both 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, finishing as runners-up in D2. In 2020, following a reorganization of the futsal leagues by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Dina Kenitra was promoted back to Futsal D1, where it has remained a competitive force.
Professionalization and Recent Success (2020-Present)
Since its return to the top division in 2020, Dina Kenitra has continued to evolve, both in terms of its competitive play and its organizational structure. The club has adopted a more professional approach, recruiting experienced players while continuing to focus on nurturing young talent from Kenitra and the surrounding region. One standout from this period is Soufiane Lahlioui, who emerged as the league’s top scorer during the 2020-2021 season with an impressive 40 goals. Lahlioui’s performance helped lead Dina Kénitra to a 3rd place finish in the league that season, a significant achievement that further established the club as one of Morocco’s premier futsal teams.
In 2023, the club reached another milestone by advancing to the semi-finals of the prestigious Moroccan Cup. Although they were defeated by Faucon d'Agadir (5-2), reaching this stage marked a notable moment in the club’s history, showcasing its ability to compete with the best teams in the country. Dina Kenitra has also taken steps to expand its reach beyond Morocco. In December 2023, the club announced a partnership with Dutch futsal club Tigers Roermond and its president, Chaib Ramdani, aimed at fostering international collaboration and exchange. This partnership reflects Dina Kenitra’s broader vision of establishing itself as a leading force in international futsal.
Philosophy : Commitment to Youth Development and Community Engagement
A fundamental pillar of Dina Kenitra’s philosophy is its unwavering commitment to youth development. Since its founding, the club has prioritized nurturing young talent from Kenitra, offering aspiring players a solid platform to refine their skills and pursue professional careers in futsal. Over the years, many players who have risen through Dina Kenitra’s ranks have earned recognition at the national and international levels.
Dina Kenitra holds the distinction of having produced Ayoub El Ouandouri, the club’s first player to be called up to the national team. A prolific goal-scorer, he was the top scorer during the 2015-2016 season until an injury prevented him from securing the title. Additionally, Hamza Errouass has been a key figure in Dina Kenitra’s history, holding the record as the club’s most-capped player.
The club has established itself as a vital gateway for player advancement, drawing the attention of European clubs as well as scouts from the Moroccan federation. The club’s exceptional reputation makes its players easily detectable for potential recruitment abroad and for national team call-ups, enabling them to represent Morocco on the international stage.
The club’s strength lies in its exceptional scouting system, which plays a central role in identifying and attracting top young talents from Kenitra’s neighborhoods to join its youth teams. Dina Kenitra’s U19, U20, and U21 teams have consistently excelled, earning regional titles and solidifying the club’s reputation for excellence in player development. This commitment to discovering and nurturing the next generation of futsal stars not only strengthens the club’s competitive edge but also ensures its sustainability and long-term impact on Moroccan futsal.

These achievements reflect the club's commitment to excellence and growth, marking its steady rise in the national futsal scene.
